I'M IN LOVE WTH MY CAR
(Written by Roger Taylor)

Oh
The machine of a dream, such a clean machine
With the pistons a pumpin', and the hubcaps all gleam
When I'm holding your wheel
All I hear is your gear
With my hand on your grease gun
Mmm, it's like a disease, son
I'm in love with my car, gotta feel for my automobile
Get a grip on my boy racer roll bar
Such a thrill when your radials squeal

Told my girl I'll have to forget her
Rather buy me a new carburetor
So she made tracks saying this is the end, now
Cars don't talk back they're just four wheeled friends now

When I'm holding your wheel
All I hear is your gear
When I'm cruisin' in overdrive
Don't have to listen to no run of the mill talk jive

I'm in love with my car (love with my car), gotta feel for my automobile
I'm in love with my car (love with my car), string back gloves in my automolove

Wow...I don't know what I'd pick for a favorite song from them. I definitely grew up with them and lost interest about the time of The Game, but have found myself coming back to them now and again. So much more of a fan of their old stuff before they truly found their sound and settled comfortably into it.
My favorite Brian May song with Queen: '39
My favorite Freddy song with Queen: lyrically, The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke. Music-wise, Love of My Life or Somebody To Love
Roger: The Loser in the End or Tenement Funster
Deacon: Misfire or Spread Your Wings.

My favorite album is definitely Queen II. It's something I come back to now and again and still find new things. Each album has such a definitive memory associated with it, at least up until News Of the World.

I'm also more of a fan of Queen prior to The Game, but I still enjoy a lot of post-Game music they've produced. I think I was so overloaded with the Game and subsequent albums that I'm just a bit sick of them.

My favourite albums change over time, but at the moment I reckon it's News of the World closely followed by A night at the Opera.

Songs - there are so many. I once listed my favourites per album, but even that changes. Current list:

From "Queen"
- Keep Yourself Alive

From "Queen 11"
- Nevermore
- Seven Seas of Rhye

From "Sheer Heart Attack"
- Killer Queen
- Dear Friends
- Bring back Leroy Brown

From "A Night at the Opera"
- Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon
- '39
- Seaside Rendezvous
- Love of my Life
- Good Company
- Bohemian Rhapsody

From "A Day at the Races"
- The Millionaire Waltz
- You and I
- Somebody to Love
- White Man
- Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy

From "News of the World"
- We will rock you
- We are the Champions
- All Dead, All Dead
- Spread your Wings
- Who needs You
- It's Late

From "Jazz"
- Fat Bottomed Girls
- Bicycle Race
- Dreamer's Ball
- Don't Stop me Now

From "The Game"
- Play the Game
- Dragon Attack
- Need your Loving Tonight
- Rock It
- Sail away Sweet Sister
- Save Me

From "Hot Space"
- Under Pressure

From "The Works"
- Radio Ga Ga
- I Want to Break Free
- Hammer to Fall

From "A Kind of Magic"
- A Kind of Magic
- Princes of the Universe

From "The Miracle"
- The Miracle
- I Want it All
- The Invisible Man
- Breakthru

From "Innuendo"
- Innuendo
- These are the Days of our Lives
- The Show must go on

From "Made in Heaven"
- Let Me Live
- Mother Love

Their sound changed significantly after the release of The Game, and because it was such a monumental success, they produced the steaming pile of poo that is "Hot Space". After that, they settled into their 80s sound which is good but not an enjoyable for me.

I haven't heard any albums past "Made in Heaven" - I think there was one or two with the other singer - Paul Rodgers? Haven't really been interested enough to check it out.

That's enjoyable, StevieG! Thank you for making me aware of it! Thumbs Up I actually like the video you linked to better than the official video for this song. The enthusiasm of Freddie for performing live comes through! Big Grin

Pre-"Game" Queen is what I like most...
But no one really mentioned the soundtrack for "Highlander" that I saw [someone mentioned one tune from it].
It's good, they went back and did some hard after mostly abandoning it for years, and has to be one of the best of A Rock Band Scores a Movie [[separate from themselves]] genre.
[[I hate Wang Chung...but, similar, their soundtrack for L/D in L.A. just worked]].

Agreed about Highlander, and as goofy as Flash Gordon was (especially the title track), it was good as well. And the song Football Fight from Flash Gordon inspired my friend and I to create a special dance known as Freakdancing.

I didn't know there was a Highlander soundtrack - I just assumed it was part of the Kind of Magic album. I'll have to try and track it down...

I never really got much out of Flash Gordon. Just a bit too goofy for me!

It WAS goofy...but perfect for the flick. As a side-story, a couple friends of mine nicknamed me Flash [it didn't catch on, thank god, amongst anyone but the two of them for a brief time] and named my car Ajax [which DID catch on...the guy I sold it to several years later continued calling it that.]
Both have good/funny reasons [in an If You Were There, You'd Crack Up way...and long, so not worth telling].

I love the warmth, sincerity, and the easy way this one can make me smile.

YOU'RE MY BEST FRIEND
(Written by John Deacon)

Ooh you make me live
Whatever this world can give to me
It's you you're all I see
Ooh you make me live now honey
Ooh you make me live

Ooh you're the best friend that I ever had
I've been with you such a long time
You're my sunshine and I want you to know
That my feelings are true
I really love you
Oh you're my best friend

Ooh you make me live

Ooh I've been wandering round
But I still come back to you
In rain or shine
You've stood by me girl
I'm happy at home
You're my best friend

Ooh you make me live
Whenever this world is cruel to me
I got you to help me forgive
Ooh you make me live now honey
Ooh you make me live

You're the first one
When things turn out bad
You know I'll never be lonely
You're my only one
And I love the things
I really love the things that you do
Ooh you're my best friend

Ooh you make me live

I'm happy at home
You're my best friend
Oh you're my best friend
Ooh you make me live
You're my best friend
