Some good concerts recently. Charlie Daniel's band and Travis Tritt, then on Fathers day Buddy Guy and Kenny Wayne Sheppard (Both blues). Next month Framptons farewell tour with Jason Bonhams Led Zeppelins experience.

Frampton found out he has a neurological disorder so this is defini6 it for him.

Concert is right now. If you aren't at Riverbend in Cincinnati, then you are missing a rocking show!!! Good Zeppelin music from JBLZE... Frampton is on next!!!

Edited. What a friggin great show. He did of course his own stuff, and some Soundgarden and Humble pie, then his last ever song in Cincinnati was a Beatles tune. While my guitar gently weeps. Just WOW.

Sounds like a terrific show, Soulbiter!

I've seen Buddy Guy and Kenny Wayne Sheppard before, and enjoyed both! Buddy Guy amazed me when I saw him in 2011, as he climbed the balcony steps to play among all of us in the upper audience, and he was seventy-four years old at the time! A true legend!

Still sounds good and he went into the audience and performed for us as well.

Tonight, Peter Frampton (with Jason Bonham) is playing in Tampa. (about 20 minutes away) I tried to get tickets, but no avail.
Tonight, my cousin is at the concert and drove 8 hours from Georgia to attend. She won a pair of tickets off her local radio station.
Just my luck!

I saw them when they were in Cincinnati. I have long wanted to see Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Evening and I was not disappointed. But man, Frampton blew the roof off of Riverbend. The place was as full as I have ever seen it... 100% sold out. Keep in mind that he lived in Cincinnati for a number of years so for him this was home for a long time.

He played all the tunes you would expect and did so with very little breaks in between. It was as if he was trying to get the crowd every song that he could in his final tour. His songs from "Frampton comes Alive", were so good and his voice so strong, it was hard to believe that he was calling it quits due to health.

Frampton ends with a Beatles song. While my Guitar Gently Weeps. Before he leaves the stage he tells everyone "thank you" then he gets choked up and says " I cant say Goodbye".

Probably my best concert experience in the last couple of decades.

I like Frampton as a person on the stuff I've seen of him, but I know so little of his stuff. I have said for some time if I was the type of person to name my penis, I would name it Frampton. And I would make a nuisance of myself naming his famous album title.

Speaking of retirement tours, last night, Dam-sel, Menolly, and I saw Sir Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in Tacoma. Great show, including both the hits and a few surprising deep cuts.

Here is the set list for those who care to see it, spoilered for those who don't:
    Spoiler:
    Bennie and the Jets
    All the Girls Love Alice
I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues
    Border Song
    Tiny Dancer
    Philadelphia Freedom
    Indian Sunset
    Rocket Man
    Take Me to the Pilot
    Someone Saved My Life Tonight
    Levon
    Candle in the Wind
Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding
    Burn Down the Mission
    Daniel
    Believe
    Sad Songs Say So Much
Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me
    The Bitch Is Back
    I'm Still Standing
    Crocodile Rock
    Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting

    Encores:
    Your Song
    Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Indian Sunset was (to me) the most surprising choice. This is a pretty obscure song from the second side of Madman Across the Water, but it was a masterful reminder of just how good some of those early neglected songs were.
