I have to ask - I am so worried about this last book. I have never got ove the dark tower ending and i was rather disappointed with the wheel of time .

so if you have read it what I want to know is - what did you think of it ?

I don't think anyone's read anything other than the teaser chapter on SRD's website. A few new threads about the ARC usually pop up pretty quickly after the it comes out/gets leaked, so it's often easy to tell when we've reached a point when someone will have read the whole thing.

Only a select, privileged few have read TLD, and they're not talking.

None...beyond the trailer and the teaser chapter. Plenty there to chew on.

The ending of TLD, read at your own risk!

Spoiler:
It turns out Lord Foul is actually YOU the READER. You've been trapped reading these books the entire time. Darn you Creato--err, Stephen Donaldson! As the final chapter closes and the arch shatters the words on the page slowly jumble and fade away... FIN

OK, maybe not. Wink

I've been wondering why I always sort of sided with LF, and was angry when Covenant emerged victorious against him. That explains it!

Wait, I can't be LF, I am Esmer!

What we have to do is shower the beautifull Seareach with gifts and delicacies untill her englamoured mind lets slip some hint or morsel of the fabulous treasure which it contains. [Summons up the enormousely persuasive power of his unequalled raffish charm]

Interestingly I have actually (and in reality) 'kissed the Blarney Stone' - an act said to confer on the performer the 'Power of Persuasion' ie the ability to persuade anyone to do anything at any time. I've never really put it to the test so perhaps.......

Ok. So how would everyone feel if the series ended with Covenant waking up in the "real" world after a near-miss by a police car. Just asking.

I can conceive of SRD weaving an ending that would result in what Romeo suggests....and it potentially being a satisfying conclusion. That's how good a writer he is, that he can craft an story that uses a trope that hackneyed and still make it work.

I do not believe that is where he has gone, but I trust him enough to know that if he did it, he would make it work. However he ends the Chrons, it will not be a "...then the little boy fell out of bed and woke up from the dream" cop-out.

Fair enough, but he's read the book, and there's no way he's leaking the ending Laughing

An ending that gave TC back his wife and son in his own world would be a good one for me - and for TC as well. I have always felt keenly for their plight.

I feel for that, too...but such an ending? I can't conceive of a way it could happen that I would find satisfactory.
Nor the "wake up almost hit by a cop car one."
[though that might imply that if one of those DID happen, and I WAS satisfied, he's even better than I think...and I think he's pretty great already. Big Grin ]
