How do you like your bacon?
For me, bacon is two completely different foods.
The first, lying on a plate, even if accompanied by say a full fried breakfast, is an insipid thing.
Put it between two pieces of bread, however, and it becomes a thing of glory, ambrosia if accompanied by a couple of pickled onions and ketchup (or even HP), glass of milk on the side.
And even better, 'medallions'! Using these, the whole slice of bacon doesn't come out of your sandwich when you take a bite. The ultimate gastronomic delight! _________________ Aglithophile and conniptionist and spectacular moonbow beholder 16Jul11

Aah, bacon. I like my bacon pretty much any way it comes. It's when contemplating things like bacon that I'm especially grateful that my GF is a vegetarian. More bacon for me.

Crispy bacon on a BLAT sandwich, but otherwise limp when grilled for breakfast please.
However, it's always the perfect texture when laid across a turkey breast and oven roasted along with the bird. Mmm... _________________

My favorite bacon is the bacon I had at Regent's College, in London. Was soft and curly, but very wide and slightly thick, almost like ham. Two of favorite meats in a strange sort of hybrid--like a spork.
As far as American bacon, doesn't matter to me. Thin, crispy, greasy, dry, doesn't matter. |

I like bacon fried about half done, not crisp or crunchy. Bacon and egg sandwich is one of my favorite foods.
This will really gross everyone out, but since we're on the subject of bacon - take fresh leaf lettuce, preferably straight from the garden, chop green onions into small pieces, and mix in a large bowl. Now, take hot bacon grease, either fresh or that has been saved from God only knows when, pour it over the lettuce/onions. You now have the southern delicacy known as "killed (or 'kilt') lettuce." Put a plate full of that on top of your head, and your tongue will smack your brains out. |

Doesn't sound all that much different from a wilted spinach salad. Yum! _________________
