On the first page we get the producers answer to one of Stutty's questions:

RIGHT NOW THERE IS NO PRODUCTION FUNDING COMMITTED, THAT COMES LATER. FIRST STEP IS GETTING THE DIRECTOR AND SCREENWRITER ON BOARD. ONCE THOSE TWO ELEMENTS ARE IN PLACE, FUNDING WILL NOT BE A PROBLEM. HOLLYWOOD IS HUNGRY FOR FRANCHISE FILMS AND SCI-FI IS POPULAR. ALSO, THERE ARE SEVERAL BIG INDEPEDENT EQUITY FUNDS LOOKING FOR LARGER FILMS. THE ROLES ARE GREAT FOR ACTORS AND WILL ATTRACT TOP TALENT. WHAT ARE YOUR IDEAS FOR THE LEAD ROLES OF ANGUS, MORN AND NICK? THE PITCH, BOURNE ULTIMATUM IN SPACE. OR BLADE RUNNER MEETS BOURNE IDENTITY.

With Cruise and cohorts funding is no problem, and now they have a screenwiter on board. Makes you think, at least...(believe me Cruise is very aware of how successful Damon's trilogy was.)

Since it says he's been signed to create and write a trilogy, I expect it's an original work.

I'm sure that's it.

I'm on the fence about Cruise. Confused

Uh, shouldn't we hope that this is NOT the movie Cruise is working on? I mean, Mission Impossible II was a joke. A bad joke. I really don't want to see Donaldson's story reduced to action sequences with "a bit of story" crammed in between.

EDIT: Oh crap, I just realized this was my man, Moore. I had no idea he did MI II. I don't know how I'm going to deal with this...

GAP film option (follow-up)

Fully Loaded Pictures has renewed its option on the GAP books for an additional 18 months. Draw your own conclusions--but remember that roughly 99 out every 100 options do NOT result in actual movies.

Hmm... let us start drawing.

Fully Loaded Productions has a MySpace page: link

According to that page:
Quote:
About me:
Fully Loaded Pictures is a production company based out of Los Angeles whose mission is to produce films that are Artistically Driven, Cutting Edge, and Commercial.
Fully Loaded Pictures is currently producing several projects (Everything Is Going To Be Just Fine, The Broadmoor, As Good As Dead) and is in the process of developing The Gap Sequence, an epic sci-fi political thriller by best selling author, Stephen R. Donaldson, for the big screen:.

Maybe you MySpacers can poke this person.

Greetings! My first post in a while. This thread got me real interested, though. I think as I was reading the Gap chronicles, whenever I pictured Angus, I pictured Kenneth Mcmillan. Who is Kenneth Mcmillan, you ask? He played Baron Vladimir Harkonen in the 1984 movie of "Dune". He was the first image I pictured when I started reading about Angus. I guess he's probably too old now, but, oh well. Gotta find someone younger, I guess.

Googled pics of him, and I can see why you'd want him as Angus. Not my mental image, but he fits well enough.

I've visited IMDB and looked up the films that page lays claim to, and they make no mention of Fully Loaded Pictures among the various companies involved in any capacity.

I just posted in another thread that Ron Perlman would make a great Angus - he has that natural brutality & ruggedness necessary for the role.

At least one of the films matches up.

As of Feb 2010, it's still touted as "in development" [link], although FLF's credits have listed it this way since '07.

I guess this an academic exercise at this point, but my casting picks are:

Nick: Javier Bardem
Morn: Charlize Theron
Angus: I agree with the poster who said Michael Chiklis
