I still haven't finished the novel that won last year. I keep telling myself that I must be the problem and I must be missing something. It's really rare that I don't finish a book once I start.

Uprooted? I quite enjoyed that one. This year's winner I wasn't so keen on (like, it seemed like it wanted to be whimsical but never quite hit the right tone?), but it's getting loads of praise and awards, so /shrug.
