Anyone see the premier of this?
I was not really impressed. The manner by which they threw the three main characters together and the hook by which the series will continue was (in my opinion) very clumsily put together.
The plot of episode was intriguing, but didn't pan out. I was left scratching my head as to the whole 'brother' thing and why the plane got infected in the first place...
i don't think I will be watching any more of this,,, _________________ ~...with a floating smile and a light blue sponge...~ |

I only saw the second half. I was drawn into it. I can't say it's the best show in the world, but I can see the potential for a new X-files. (It's no wonder to me the timing nor the plausibility of a new X-files movie.)
I liked Dr. Bishop. |

It was a little hit and miss for me, too. I like the premise, but the execution was pretty sloppy. I'll give it a few more episodes. _________________ "It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. I was pretty excited about this show and was really disappointed by the awkward story. The characters didn't quite gel. Seemed like the writers were trying to squeeze too much into one episode. I still like the premise though, so I'll watch at least a few more episodes. _________________ Proverbs for Paranoids #3.

I know this is really slow ... but I finally figured out that Dr. Bishop is Denethor! (John Noble)

Damn, I knew I knew him from somewhere. Of course, I stopped thinking about it after the second episode, since that was when I stopped watching it. _________________ "It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. I've watch the series in it's entirety thus far. I'm enjoying it. Probably because I know what is going on. _________________ "If you can't tell the difference, what difference does it make?"

Dr.Bishop is by far the best character, and so well played. _________________

Oh, I understood it easily enough. Just didn't care. Like Tulizar, I thought it was awkward. Also, I didn't buy the 'levitation' excuse for the dude surviving the elevator incident. _________________ Dandelion don't tell no lies

You know what I don't like about this show? It's FAKE!
No really. The towns that appear in this show - Acton MA, Westford MA, etc. - well, I live near these towns, know almost every road in these towns. And they don't look anything like what they show on the Fringe!
I mean, my god ... straight roads in Massachusetts?!?! Who are they kidding? And streets that run parallel to each other?!?! These people have obviously never been to MA. And there's WAY no red castle in Clarksburg, people!!!! _________________

Recently watched an episode called "Peter" from a week or so ago. I have only seen a few eps of Fringe and maybe one other ep of this second season, but I have to say that this episode was one of the best SciFi stories I have seen of any show this year.
I have since went to the Fox site and watched the 4 "Essential Episodes" and some others, but I think this "Peter" ep is self-contained dispite it being a pivitol story and explains something that occured in the past (1980's) that has only been elluded to since the beginning of the show and perhaps an event that's the catalyst for the whole series.
Anyway, a pretty much self-containded story, albiet a bit somber, and if you have some time and want to perhaps give the show a second chance like I did, then check out this "Peter" episode found on http://www.fox.com/watch/fringe
This Walter character (John Noble) is amazing. _________________ Cowboy: Why you doin' this, Doc?

After catching a few episodes this season I don't know what I was thinking when I stopped watching it last year. I've only seen four or five episodes, but every one has been great. Kil Tyme is right about Peter, it really draws you in and, despite being an integral episode to the series, it does stand on its own.
Bishop, without a doubt, owns the show. It's fun watching as his delusions are proven to actually be a bizarre reality. _________________ Proverbs for Paranoids #3.

The Peter Ep was very good indeed. But to people who have been following all along, it was not as surprising, but worthwhile nonetheless. (You knew the basic plot elements from piecing clues together, but you got to see how it unfolded.) _________________

Every show is fake. When ever I see a DC shot of people walking or driving around DC, they are either taking wormholes from one spot to another in a split second or they are using some Burbank, CA building as a DC Federal building. X-files and 24 are notorious for making up DC street locations. I've seen movies where they will photoshop a scene to have a fake road in front of the WH or Capitol Building or a beautiful perfectally green Mall or Lincoln Mem Reflecting Pool scene when it's really half dirt. But I don't mind; it's helping the city look a bit less dirty than it can be in rl. _________________ Cowboy: Why you doin' this, Doc?

At least they're trying to make it look like DC. They aren't just showing a picture of DeMoines and writing "Washington, DC" on it. _________________

Back in the day, my wife remembers watching shows based in LA (Emergency, Adam 12), and laughing at cross street locations they were sent to. Most of the time, the streets ran parallel to each other.
I think it's a time-honored TV Hollywood tradition to NOT show real locations.
Spoiler: Maybe you should think of Fringe as the alternate universe, and we're trying to go there. | Spoilered, just in case ... _________________ ItisWritten |
