At the end of a TPTP film I would like to see all the characters doing an extravagantly choreographed rendition of Age of Aquarius thru the passages and courtyards of Revelstone.

When Linden and TC first arrive in the Land, I think the background music should be 'Roll to Me...' As sung by Lord Foul.

Also, I think that instead of the begger just having a cup in LFB, he should be a street musician playing, "Heart of Gold."

    It's been on my mind,
    to find a white one;
    It keeps me searching
    for a ring of gold
    And I'm friggin old.

I think when LF first speaks to TC on Kevin's watch and calls him a groveller, they should play Metallica's "Master of Puppets."

Come crawling faster
obey your Master
your life burns faster
obey your Master

It would be a tough job picking out a soundtrack for and SRD movie, but I would agree, that even in intrumental form, Disturbed would have a nice effect in certain scenes, especially during Covenants nightmare's about leprosy in the first Chronicles

London Symphony Orchestra for the Filler. and flight of Iccarus by Iron Maiden would be an almost perfect song to go with covenants run under the sunbane after the bloodrite given by Waynhim.

Been awhile since I've read the books from the FCoTC, but every time I hear this song, I think of *multiple* scenes from those three books:

"Human" -Josh Joplin Group
Gazing down on fields far away
Staring out at all I see
I've just returned from a war that was lost
The only foe I had was me
No retreat from the forces I fought
Believing I could only win
And from grace to the ground I fall
I am human again

I saw myself untouched by hate
But I was much to numb to feel
And the angels that carried me away
Let me know they weren't real
(But I was)
And no matter how strong the vision was
It was not of whom I am

And from grace to the ground I fall
I am human again

Hold me now until I sleep my love
Follow me down, follow me down
I will not be scared anymore
As long as my feet don't leave the ground
And I'm still staring at fields far away
Surrounded by the dream I'm in
And from grace to the ground we fall
And we are human again

In the later half of the Second Chronicles, as Linden and Covenant grow closer together, this is the song I'd picture playing from Linden's perspective to Covenant (esp. toward the end of the third book!)

"What I Remember Most (About Dying)" -Over the Rhine
The saddest songs are the happiest
The hardest truths are the easiest
Put us both to the test
And tell me if you still need me

And I will swallow these words
And see if I can still believe

The biggest lies are the little ones
When the look in your eyes is the distant one
Angel or demon
You know that they can share one bed
Iíve laid awake so long
Iíve got them both inside my head

This is what Iíll remember most about dying
So many moments like ghosts
Slipping through my hands in vain
You were 80% angel
10% demon
The rest was hard to explain...

This is what Iíll remember most about dying
Loading these moments like a gun
Hoping to kill the pain
You were 80% angel
10% demon
The rest was hard to explain

I just heard the best song to go with this idea! One of my favorite bands, Over the Rhine, has a song on their newest album called "Don't Wait for Tom" about a street musician. I could totally see this song playing at the beginning of LFB: scenes of the small, tired town edited together with the old street musician while Covenant makes his way to the telephone office.

(If you want to hear the song, you can go to www.overtherhine.com and click the record player to listen to it for free.)

"Don't Wait for Tom" -Over the Rhine

Heís got the hands of a blind piano player
Heís got a feel for the dark like a soothsayer
He takes a little bow and tips his fedora
Shouts like heís gonna save Sodom and Gomorrah

Workiní for the circus X railroad bum
Carnival barker for kingdom dot come
Dusty olí Gibson opposable thumb
Bangs out the rhythm on a 50-gallon drum

Donít wait for Tom
Tomís long gone
Heís already moved on
Donít wait for Tom
I saw an olí í55 Buick
Just before dawn
I said, Hey, hey Tom
The sunís cominí up
You got your wipers on

Are you tryna make it rain again?
Are you tryna make it rain again?
Is it raininí just around your bend?
Are you tryna make it rain again?

Sittiní in a corner with his pet muskrat
Tossiní his cards into an old manís hat
He grins at the girls and they always grin back
He bets an old waltz he could get Ďem in the sack

He makes his own music from the bell of a Ďbone
A waitressís falsie and a railroad phone
Bobs on his knees to an old tarantella
South of the border he stole it from a fella

Donít wait for TomÖ
His triple-jointed juke fingers splay like a scarecrow
He kneels down and whistles to a fallen sparrow
His eyes light up when they wheel in a piano
He reads a dirty joke out of an old Baptist hymnal

He wears a tuxedo made of sackcloth and ashes
Has a tattoo of a girl who can bat her eyelashes
Down on the river he was fishiní with a sword
He knocked off John the Baptist for a word from the Lord

He takes his coffee with the blood of a turnip
Blushes his cheeks with an Amsterdam tulip
Choppiní up a rooster for a pullet surprise
If the gravy donít getcha heíll getcha with his eyes

Hey Tom

Another good song for the TC movies...maybe one of the scenes where TC is in Awe of the land. maybe even during the transformation of Hile Troy into a tree stump, It really reminds me of the song of a Forestall.

Cat Stevens - Morning has broken
(I dont care what he is now..he was a great artist)

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the word

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

Gotta state the obvious... Hans Zimmer or James Newton Howard would both be good choices Smile

Michael Giacomo(spl?) who does the soundtrack for the TV show LOST strikes me as one who could capture and communicate the other worldlyness of the Land experience...with each character represented by a musical theme.

But wait a minute,,how many musicians post here at KW? Heck, write our own soundtrack! Phil Glass look out!

Nothing - but nothing beats Jerry Goldsmith's "The Meld" from Star Trek:TMP for either the destruction of the Illearth Stone in the first chronicles, or even better, the formation of the new Staff of Law in the 2nd Chronicles (it IS called "the meld" after all).
I'm repeating myself, but if you put John Williams' "Miracle of the Ark" from the Raiders of the Lost Ark soundtrack right before the transformation of the Staff - as Covenant's encounter with Foul (where Foul claims the Ring) - you have perfect sequencing and themes - even the clink of the ring as it falls to the dais (at the end of that piece). (The Ark theme where Foul is screaming "No!" works pretty well, too.)

Hans Zimmer IS good - but those pieces are perfect.

If anyone else tries it out, let me know! Smile
