Should a movie ever happen, the music would (IMHO) be the thing most likely to screw up my own experience with the land. I've been reading Mr. Donaldson since I was 13 or so, and every time I read about the Land my musical tastes have always gone towards acoustic guitar.

These kinds of things for me indicate what the music should be surrounding a story. One very odd combination that I've happened across in the past that works very well is Dave Matthews band and Frank Herbert,if you have doubts consider for a moment Baron Harkonen (spelling?) and the song from the "Crash" Album "Too Much".

My feelings about the musical interpretation of the land is almost as specific. Namely Andy McKee.

The simple "unreality" that the music this man makes is from one man on one guitar without any (or much) studio trickery seems to suit the similar "unreality" of the Land. The beauty of both mesh just as well, and I harbor a private little hope that Andy McKee would be willing to (and or) ecstatic to compose all new music for such a cinematic undertaking as an Unbeliever movie, with HBO and R.R. Martin we can only hope.

Whenever I've read through the Lords' songs in the First Chronicles, I've had difficulty imagining how ANY music could go with the words.
