There are far too many news stories for us to discuss here and even though we typically link to stories in individual posts it would be a good idea to have a centralized location from which we can begin looking into topics on our own. With that in mind, I am going to put this up as a place where we can put links to news sources. Yes, I would prefer the sources to be relatively mainstream but I will not forbid sources which are more on the fringe like InfoWars. If you have a site you want added just link it and I'll add it to the main list.

This will be a "work in progress" as the list grows, clearly.

On an unrelated note, I was right--now that we are down from 5 to 3 I am not spending as much time here pursuing the news stories which keep cropping up on a daily basis like the mine collapse in Turkey.

Al Jazeera America
Democracy Now!
Drudge Report (this one also has links to other news sources, mostly conservative ones, though)
Reason
The Volokh Conspiracy
The Guardian
ABC News
Reuters
BBC News
Associated Press
Mother Jones
The Intercept
On the Issues (research on politicians)
Project Vote Smart

I haven't watched this yet...I'm just about to...found it through Tyler Cowen's site, and some peeps have said it's a good debate. [Cowen's mostly economist, mostly Libertarian, with some twists and other interests, if peeps haven't heard of him]
Anyway, it's Krugman and Moore debate that happened a couple weeks ago...the bar says it's a bit over an hour long.

edited to add: oops, wrong thread. Ah well.
edited 2: I always forget how Krugman's voice is odd compared to his look.

Into which thread did you want this to go? I'll move it.

Al Jazeera America is calling it quits; that forum isn't making them the money they hoped so they are shutting it down. The site still works for now but all news will be through the main Al Jazeera site in the subset of Al Jazeera English. Be aware of AJ's slight anti-Israel/pro-Muslim/quasi-anti-United States bias, though.

The parent company, Al-Jazeera Media Network, just fired 500 people in Qatar. I guess they are heading towards bankruptcy.

RealClearPolitics

I find myself using this a lot lately. It is a news aggregator and also produces good content itself. It is moderately Right-leaning (which helps balance my own Left-leaning) and has a really good policy of often pairing articles with contradictory takes on an issue.
