Both my sons, while young teens, read the series shortly after I did. They're grown now, but we still wish we could visit The Land other than in our imaginations....

As a survivor of Rape myself, I found it easier to read of Lena's rape, than to watch (and listen to) a rape in a movie. My imagination apparently protects me better than some "in your face" ...
