Did less than nothing this weekend, including utterly failing to do all the things I had intended to do.

On the down side...Monday. Meh.

More overtime this weekend. And spent all my spare time recording guitar and making vocalpads*. Got about a minute of music ...
phew ... need a lot more practice!

okey dokey and glad to be home.

I went to SF for a week and chose that specific week because todd rundgren was going to be signing his new book at Amoeba Records on the Monday and I wanted to meet him.

but then I got cold feet. I mean...I made an utter imbecile of myself when I met james taylor years and years ago. I could barely string two thoughts together looking at my hand shaking his HUGE hand...dude is really tall and has really big hands...and so, thinking about going to meet todd, get my book signed... I kept thinking about what the hell do you say to a musician of that caliber about how his music has affected you...or whatever what DO you say? i been listening to that guy since i was 12. it's kinda like meeting a beatle or something...to me anyway.

so i didn't go. lol!! such a dork.

but of course CREATOR in all his WISDOM decides we should go SEE todd in boulder on the 30th...i read the reviews of the tour and the set list is a fan's dream set list...and my husband has purchased us MEET AND FUCKING GREET tickets GAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

what AM i going to SAY to dude? Crazy Faint

Paralysed with indecision over a potential job opportunity. I've been asked by a friend of a parent to send my CV to their company's recruitment email, all I've been told is "send [my] CV to [email address] and say could I be considered for any suitable positions. [X]'ll pick it up from there". I'm now sitting around stuck on exactly what to write in the email. Not sure if it needs to be a full cover letter or just straight to the meat of it. Considering writing this:
Quote:
I am interested in working for [company name] and would like to be considered for any suitable positions you have available. Please find attached my CV. I look forward to hearing back from you.

But it feels too brief. Given that it's basically what I was asked to do I'm not sure if it's enough or if I should mention what kind of work I'm looking for or what...

Never heard of the guy personally...

Don't over-think it. Very Happy If [X] will pick it up from there, it's probably enough. Once submitted though, contact [X] and tell them that you've sent it in.

If you were applying for a specific job, then yes, something a bit more detailed would be better, but in this case, it's a shot in the dark and (I assume) you have no expectations.

(I also assume [X] already has something in mind for you, so whatever you might say about the kind of job would probably be pointless. Very Happy

Tell us how it goes. Very Happy

Yes, yes, what Avatar says!

and if you don't have his/her email to say thanks directly, tell the parent who knows that person when you send it in.

this is of advantage to the person who recommended you, as they have reason to believe you are a responsible and honest human being...
...wheras most of the people whose resumes are being received... could be ANYONE with any level of commitment to a job.

Also, good on ya, Murrin for keeping your CV up to date!

Lucimay- that's kind of hilarious. Very Happy

Feeling kinda rough. Woke up at about 03h30 with a pounding head...the kind where you think it's gonna pop. Felt like it could be sinus, so took a couple painkillers/decongestants at about 04h00, and was puking my guts out by 04h30. Decided I wasn't up to driving to work, so have called in a rare sick day.

Feeling a bit better now, (at least the head pain is gone), but still a little shaky.

By coincidence Av, I'm in the same boat. Headache, feeling sick and suffering with the .....no let's not go there! Came home from work half way through yesterday and after a night up and down like a fiddler's elbow I'm going to pull the rug on today (and most likely tomorrow as well). I frikkin hate being ill, and I hate loosing money......but on the plus side I'm catching up on some Witcher 3 in between ....... enough!

Used to have a band called Tod Rungren's Utopia iirc (in fact I'm pretty sure I saw them at a festival in my youth). I can't remember anything of their output, but that's not surprising - I was wasted for pretty much the duration of that period of my life! Laughing

Took a day off of work, went to the dentist to have a filling and standard cleaning, left with a surprise root canal.

So, I guess that's my life's metaphor right now.

Unpleasant. Sad

Had a nice quiet weekend, read, played games, confiscated a very big dead rat from my smallest cat, and a smallish live one from my biggest cat. Very Happy

Monday now though...
