By the time that Nick beams over to Deaner Beckmann's with Mikka, Vector, Sib, and Pup, he has made sure that Mikka will be unable to interfere with his intentions against Sorus.
How did Nick accomplish neutralizing Mikka?

That's a logical answer, I grant you, but that's not it. There is more fundamental reason, a situation Nick made sure existed that prevented Mikka's interfering with his plans for Sorus at Beckman's lab.

A hint is called for at this point. I've removed the answer from the following Gap passage. Hope this helps get the answer for somebody.

He intended to sacrifice them in any case. Get even with them for daring to turn against him. Only Vector truly mattered. Mikka was just cover. And he'd made sure that ___ ______ ____ ____ ___ __. She wouldn't interfere because she wouldn't be able to guess his intentions. |

I was barking completely up the wrong tree until your clue. I was thinking it was in ADAHGA, but no! Chaos and Order! And the only reason I got it is because I found the passage Good question!

Even though it was isolated, was my clue anywhere near the mark? (I think Cord might have misinterpreted it, though it sounds like it sent him in a good direction anyway.)

I too was surprised that she didn't have a chapter in TDAGD - must have been Chaos and Order. I had to go and check again, but she definitely didn't have a chapter.
