Speed reader then? Or someone with reading time at work? Or a combination of factors?

I certainly can't keep things up at work and home chores and still keep a reading pace like that.

But I do listen to a lot of audio dramas - on my long commute to and from work. So maybe that should count. Wink

Haha, no reading time at work. But yes, I read very quickly. It has its drawbacks. Very Happy

Near as I can tell, I'm on 89 books this year so far. Bit slow, but there have been several complete re-reads of things like the Malazan books, the Gap, etc.

I haven't been keeping score, but I've been doing a lot of rereading this year. I have an expedition to the bookstore planned for next week, and I'm sure I won't leave empty handed, but in general, I still feel out of the loop from when I worked in a bookstore and would generally read at least one new book per week.

Edit: Fixed typo.

I look at those threads and think 'that sounds good, I should read that', and have been really bad at following through with it the past couple of years.

Like Murrin's book club. I really wanted to read all those books, and I think I only read one.

Oops, this is a bit out of date. Far as I can tell, I only managed 116 books for 2015.

Goodness, only managed about 75 books last year.

I blame computer games. Probably put 300-400 hours into gaming last year, with a corresponding reduction in my reading time.

So, that was 94 for 2017.

So far, for 2018, have done...39.

Really do seem to be reading less, but as before, concomitant increase in game playing so, hours been used up.

Well, been a while since I worked out the numbers for this. Very Happy

2018 ended up at 86 books.

2019 was a miserable 52 books, or just 1 a week, but in my defence, I did put many hundreds of hours into Kenshi.

This year I managed 65, slightly better than last year, but not much. Very Happy

I always say "For people who don't read, I read a lot. For people who read a lot, I don't read a lot."

Last year I topped out at 15 books, I think, which is a touch below my goal of 20. I'm picking up again this year with the goal of 4 books for January, and I've already got the first one done. Since I didn't start that goal until the 5th I'm not behind yet Very Happy
