Hang on - if the Dems can bitch about an event in 2016 for a whole four years, two years is nothing.

The things they bitch about are external and actually do not have a direct effect on us here.

As I've said before, people will inevitably believe whatever suits them, and once someone has decided to believe something, very few will be dissuaded. ::shrug::

House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D - SC) won't take a stance on the issue of China and what it is doing to the Uyghur Muslim population. According to him, "I try to stay out of these foreign affairs matters." I expect him to make no statements about any other foreign country, then, including Israel.

For those of you keeping score, we know that the PRC has been crackign down on Uyghurs for years. In the last 6 months we have at least one image of them being arranged in neat rows at a train station, all with shaved heads and wearing uniform jumpsuits in a scene right out of 1944 Nazi Germany. We also know for a fact that the PRC is using the Uyghurs for slave labor right now--they are actually picking cotton in a scene right out of 1855 Mississippi.

Democrats still love China, though. One presumes that some of them wish they could implement such programs here, but there are laws against that. For now.

Nobody has the nous to go up against China, and nobody ever has. Most of the developed world is too dependent on their cheap manufacturing capacity, and the rest is far too small and powerless to challenge them.

It's certainly not like the Republicans are lining up to go and liberate the Uigher slave camps either. Or, y'know, stopping companies from profiting from their unfair labour practices etc.

Anyway, from what I understand the tariffs etc. are not going to be rolled back, and I seem to recall the new pres intended to keep a fairly "hardline" stance against China.

(For all the good that will do...)

The Biden Administration, keep a hard line against China? Yeah, right. They are just tough-talking right now, but they'll wind up conceding..

edit/add: I told you that Democrats were not interested in "unity" or "reconciliation". Pelosi is publicly suggesting that Trump could be considered an accessory to murder because of what happened on the 6th. For fuck's sake, Nancy, he's gone--let it go.

Whoopsie! It looks like Georgians who voted Democrat, giving control of the Senate to Democrats, are already regretting their decision. The key issue of both races was "vote for us and we will give you $2,000 checks in coronoa relief". This talking point became so important that even Republicans in the Seante started to get on board with the idea, hoping to retain even one seat.

Now that Congress is back in session the number being thrown around is $1,400. But Hashi, you may state, that isn't $2,000. You are correct--it isn't, but $1,400 + $600 = $2,000 and we already got the first $600. That is not what voters in Georgia were promised, though--they all believed they would get an actual $2,000 and they were told that over and over again. Even Ocasio-Cortez is criticizing what is going on, noting that it is a classic case of "bait and switch"--promise one thing then deliver another. People who worked for the Democrat campaigns are upset with what is happening because they feel like they were part of a big lie being told to voters.

Senator Warnok was elected to fill the last part of Isakson's term so that seat is up for grabs again in 2022. If Republicans retake it and everything else remains as is then control of the Senate shifts back.

Democrats in Washington, D. C. did not even let the buzz of Inaguration wear off before lying to voters.

You'd think that people would be on to this sort of thing after the whole, "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor" BS.

There were a lot of new/young/inexperienced voters in Georgia--the only State which was not on my short list of toss-ups to defy my predictions about the election results--and so they did not know any better.

I wonder if some of those people who moved to Georgia in September just in time to vote in the election are now regretting moving to Georgia? Even Andrew Yang suggested that he was going to move there for that reason.

What's up with Antifa wrecking Starbucks to protest Biden's win? I thought they were wrecking places in order to get him elected?

The far left are insane. It's a matter of time until they're strapping on suicide vests.

At least that is more efficient than what happened in Nashville on Chr-stmas.
OK, not even vaguely funny. As someone who was way too near a suicide bomber (blew a city bus i didn't catch) in June 1974, I should know better.Embarassed

Resident of Seattle suburbs here. Been watching leftist activists here long before the '99 WTO riots. What happened last night wasn't like that, or any prior May Day, or like CHAZ / CHOP. Much more organized and uniform.

Between that and the oddity that it occurred on Inauguration Day (while so much other expected mischief did not) suggests to me that it may have been false-flag. Absolutely can't prove it, but let's watch how the story plays out.

Why would people false flag in Seattle? If they were going to false flag on Inaguration Day they should have done it in Washington, D. C....or at least as close as they could get to it.

Antifa definitely hates Republicans but they also ultimately hate Democrats because Democrats are capitalists. Antifa is anti-capitalist, which is why they target Starbucks.

Well...yes and no. Democrats did not denounce antifa violence during the Trump Administration and so they were actually voicing their support by remaining silent. On the other hand, antifa hates Democrats, too, because too many of them are capitalists and antifa, if it is anything, it is anti-capitalist.

Biden will crack down on violent dissent, though--you wait and see.
