...you try to find the strand of yarn that's holding together two knitted fabrics in the same yarn, and snip the strand that you think is the right one -- only to discover that it's not. Crying or Very sad

(The hole was pretty easy to patch. But it was already after midnight. Now, why I decided to finally get around to this particular mending chore at that hour is another matter. Rolling Eyes )

That reminds me that I have to sew a pair of pants where the seam along the side of one leg is coming apart.

I can't say I have ever experienced that exact issue, but having recently broken yet another vacuum cleaner, I am rapidly reaching the point of needing to learn to knit with cat hair.

Actually should have bought one after work today, but it was raining and I don't need much excuse to not go shopping.

Yeech, ali.

I remember staying up late to send an e-mail, but there wasn't any of the crazy "well this went horribly wrong, and I shouldn't just set it aside and leave it."

Sounds a lot like me... at various points in time. But also... pretty much always.

That moment when the brisket that's roasting on the broiler pan filled with a flavorful broth is cooking too fast, so you go to check to make sure the thermometer isn't touching the pan or any bone (even though it is boneless) and you spill the entire contents on to the open oven door... Embarassed

noooooo-ooooo!!!!!!!!

okay, now I have one:
that moment when you realize that a pie pan just leaped in the air and burst into a hundred pieces of glass...
...because it heated unevenly,
because you left it on the burner,
because you didn't get around to cleaning various dishes and, well, that was where it was sitting, (?)
and then you turned said burner on,
even though you meant to turn on the front one.

or even worse:
...that moment when you recognize the sound of losing a pie pan this way! Laughing

edit: the bit about the range.

That moment when you serve the brisket that landed on the oven door to she-who spilled-it and she admits it is really good.

She's had a lot of poorly cooked brisket. This could have been better (nothing to do with it being disturbed in mid-roast), but it was pretty darn good just sliced the first night...and even better a couple nights later with cabbage and noodles.

Ooh, kitchen incidents! We could be here all night... Twisted Evil

That moment when you realize you've put the wicker bread basket on the stove -- right on top of the hole for the pilot light.

(It didn't burn through, but there's a lovely round scorch mark on the bottom. The kids still make fun of me for it. Rolling Eyes )

Cat related. That moment last night when I realized I had only one can of cat food to feed my two cats this morning. Going out to the store was rejected: I had just gotten home from work and it was cold outside. The question for the morning became which cat would get a can of food for breakfast and which would get a triple sized portion of cat treats.

That moment when you dodge the open closet door in the hallway at work but misjudge the distance, knock into the opposite wall, and splash coffee all over yourself.

Maybe I should invest in a sippy cup... Rolling Eyes

Yes, that's awful.

When I do it at work, I can get IT to recover an older version for me, usually, but at home it's a lost cause.
