It's almost to the point where it would be weird if it *weren't* snowing in Massachusetts. I hear the National Guard has been called out in Hull -- the town's plows have been outmatched. They're not tall enough to drop more snow on top of the 6-7-foot drifts that are already there at the sides of the roads... Shocked

Still Thursday here. And it's gonna be Friday the 13th, which is the one and only superstition I subscribe to. Two out of three of the worst days of my life were on Friday the 13th.

Three, actually. February, March, November. It's one of the first things I check on a calendar. I believe there won't be another year containing 3 until 2026.

I wish I didn't, because I really don't have any use for superstition - and it's been 20 years (and one month) since the last time something really bad happened to me on Friday the 13th. I don't usually do much more than note it, but that 20 year-anniversary hit me pretty hard and I think I'm still recovering.

Today was an endless chain of Things Going Wrong. Not bottom-falling-out-of-the-world wrong, just on-the-phone-with-IT-all-day wrong.

I need to find something positive to associate with the date, so I bought a lottery ticket for the first time in forever. Though I should maybe have a plan B just in case I don't win.

I have a osteochondral lesion in the articular surface of the medial talus. my right foot. it means I am missing a portion of bone, due to injury or loss of blood circulation.

I have to follow up with a foot specialist in Houston.

Friday the 13th came and went with no problems. Hunkering down for a while today. It's snowing lightly but the winds are blowing at up to 45 mph.

Possible snow forecast (although not until later) so not looking forward to that as no one here can drive in snow (or rain or even sunny weather come to think of it...).

Actually became a victim to that bad driving again on Saturday. A dump truck changed lanes into my lane and even though I hit the horn and sped up to make sure I was visible he still ripped off my rear bumper. Could have been worse so I'm thankful that's all that happened. Glad it was in SC too and not NC, as in NC law enforcement won't make a call on who was at fault - fortunately the SCHP attended and found him at fault, so it's going to be all about insurance companies and getting the damage repaired now.

What really pissed me off though was that the driver lied and said that I cut him off. Unluckily for him one of the troopers that attended noticed overhead cameras on the signs for the interstate exits and downloaded the video to see what happened and they found the lying SOB at fault.

I can't believe that everywhere else I have driven I have never got into accidents yet in the 11 years we have been here I have averaged an accident about once every 2 years and none of them have been my fault.
