It's a great show! I love the episode where there's a party and Neil smokes some weed. He ends up on the moon. LOL

Yes. That's how you generally pick out the hippie in a group. Cool

It's hard to pick a favourite. They're all funny... although Rick probably has most of the best lines.

"Oh, that's great, Vyvyan! If the mountain won't come to Mohammed, smash the drawing-room to pieces!"

One thing I've noticed on rewatching them in later years is that Mike, the seemingly normal guy, is really the weirdest of them all. A lot of the stuff he says doesn't make any sense at all, and a lot of the time he seems to be on a different planet from the others. (See for instance the "Trevor" discussion at the beginning of "Time".)

Man ... I just love this show!

I've had The Young Ones DVD on order at a local store for what seems like a century now ... and I'm still waiting.

Cussing

(Speaking of Vyvyan, Rick, and Neil ... has anyone ever seen the Heavy Metal parody movie they did called "Bad News" ?? It's brilliant!!)

YOU GUYS HAVE SO GOT TO BE KIDDING ME (faints with excitement). No one else I know ever heard of this show (except my friend Karen, and I introduced he to it). The people on this site have to be the cooles ever. SRD,Star Trek,Buffy, Monty Python, The Young Ones. It is too much. I loved this show. It used to be on MTV on 1230 Sunday nights when I ws in high school. I had to sneak downstairs to watch it caus my mom had a fit if I was up so late on a school night. My favorite episode was "Bambi", but I loved all of them!

"It's only University Challenge, Rick. Don't get uncool and heavy".

Loved it when it was first on, but watched it again a few years ago and felt it didn't age well.

Also not being from the States helps too!

I thought the same as you when I saw this thread:
"You mean there's someone other than me who actually knows about this show enough to make a thread?"

I loved this show.
I'm also one of the 5 people who bought "Neil's Book of the Dead" book.
I still have it in the cellar some place.
Very silly.

But I have to agree with Cail.
I saw a show not too long ago and I wondered what it was that I thought was so funny before.
Vivian still cracks me up though.

Oh, come on. How could, "Lentils, guys, LENTILS!" not hold up well?

(Viv gets my vote! Of course, Rik is also Drop Dead Fred, so who's to say who is best?)

Smile It had it's moments, but in the long run, it got a bit annoying for me. Enjoyed the "University Challenge" one, the vampire episode (atrocious accent) and some long "special" I saw once, can't remember the title. (There was a "magic" doorway or something.)

Vyv gets my vote too.
