Official 2020 Presidential Prognostication Thread

Apparently I was incorrect. I thought 2 January 2019 would mark the unofficial beginning of the 2020 Presidential race but some Democratic organizers are already courting Robert Francis O'Rourke--colloquially referred to as Beto even though he is not Hispanic at all--as their number one choice for the ticket in 2020 based on his fundraising numbers from his campaign against Ted Cruz. His name is already on short lists alongside Bernard Sanders and Joe Biden, both of whom are in their 70s (which would work against them in an actual campaign) and they are comparing him to Barack Obama and Robert Kennedy.

If Robert runs, he would easily defeat other younger candidate hopefuls such as Kamala Harris and Cory Booker.

Still...the most shocking thing so far is that the next election cycle has already begun. *yeesh*

So far, about 6 or 7 on the Democratic side but only one on the Republican side. The third parties won't announce until an appropriate time and will account for about 4 or 5 more.

GOP: Trump, though I bet (and hope) that he's primaried. Assuming he is, not only will he win the primary, it'll make him stronger in the general.

DEMS: Delaney, Booker, Harris, Sanders, Warren, Biden, Clinton, O'Rourke. I expect at least 4-6 more.

Let me apply for the job..

I will propose that no person, media outlet or anything can not provide, declare
or accept money for a political office until the year of the election.
No one or party can campaign before the year of election.
No primaries can not be held in any state before the year of election.

That all parties that receive money for persons or parties will have a 10% tax
levied on their money to be paid before the funds can be used for the campaign.
All political money remaining after the election must be turned over to the government.

Violation will mandate a 40 year prison term and forfeit of all funds or fines in case of others involvements.

Then of course then the standard lies that are told.

But its moot if shes not running. Sadly theres no one else Ive seen capable of rallying popular support.

Condolezza Rice is probably more qualified to be President than any of the
past candidates in the past 12 years.
Doctors degree.
Provost of Stanford University.
United States National Security Advisor
United States Secretary of State

She has the stuff to be President. With her expertise she could make Congress
follow her plan. (She would subject them to her piano recitals Razz

)

I would campaign for her and for years thought she would be a good choice.

I believe she could outpoint Trump during the 2019 primaries.

Michelle Obama would run away with the Democratic nomination and she would probably defeat Trump. That being said, she won't run because I don't think she wants that much of a spotlight on her family any more.

Ms. Rice won't run for a slightly different reason--she would probably find today's political climate far too hostile for her liking.
